Appearance: 5’5’’ with short brown hair and brow eyes, Rue is one person where it’s very hard to identify his/her gender. S/he has breast augmentations, but the lower pluming is that of a man. She (I’m sticking with that, since he thinks of himself as a woman) often dresses in a very feminine fashion. (Ie, she prefers skirts over jeans). Her features and voice are soft enough to pull this off with ease. Though sometimes she’ll also bind her fake breasts and actually go out as a man, if the situation warrants it. Her androgynous appearance makes this very easy for her to do. She likes short skirts, baby doll tops, anything that shows off a very girlish looking body. Rue also favors brightly colored clothing and LOVES to accessorize.

Personality: Rue is a woman, in a man’s body with breast augmentations. Rue is a man, who acts more like a woman, and for all intensive purposes, is more like a woman then most other women. She has a very playful and flirtatious personality. She loves music, with a specific leaning towards rock ‘n roll, or anything that displays a sense of humor. Her ipod, yes, she did buy one and she keeps the battery charged at ALL times, is full of random music.

Rue also has a very hard time following any set of rules and doesn’t really enjoy being confined in one place for a long time – hence, being stuck in a safe city with other people is driving her nuts. Also, doesn’t care what others think of her, she lives her own life for herself. Rue also has a certain fondness for simply fucking with people, for lack of a better term. She is fond of saying that what makes a woman is on the inside, and not the outside.

Strengths: Physically, the standard vampire strengths apply. Personality wise, she’s very adaptable, and able to laugh at herself.

Weaknesses: Standard vampire weaknesses apply. She also doesn’t like to be stuck in one place for a long time. She can’t resist playing with people a bit, a habit that’s gotten her into a lot of trouble, the same with her total disregard/disrespect for rules, laws and social convention. When crossed, she is also one spiteful bitch. Hell hath no fury like a vampire scorned.

Personal History: Rue could never be the man her parents wanted – and needed - to carry on the family name. Even early on, she felt like she was trapped in the wrong body. This didn’t bode well in Victorian England and she tried her hardest to be what her parents wanted, but simply ended up miserable. When she was arraigned to marry the daughter of a business partner of her parents, she had decided she had had enough. She had a genuine affection for the girl they had picked out, and because of that, Rue wanted to make sure she ended up with a man who could actually be a man for her, and give her a family, love and passion. Things she couldn’t offer for the girl she saw as a good friend. But one simply didn’t walk away from these things.

During this period in her life, Rue developed a drinking problem as a way to try to forget her problems. A very talkative drunk, with a tendency to stay out very late, she drew the attention of Ravnos vampire. When offered a chance to end her old life and start one free of the social conventions that were confining her, Rue jumped at the chance. Even after he explained what he was, and what she was accepting. Helping the matter along was the fact that she had a very large crush on the man that offered.

Her ‘death’ freed the girl she was supposed to marry to live her own life, and started Rue off on hers. Rue has been cross dressing and living her own life, and throwing the proverbial pie in the face of convention and traveling from place to place since then. She traveled for a long time with the man who turned her, until she got bored, and in her nature wandered off. Though she rebounds back to him every few decades, she keeps herself open to the possibilities. She lives like someone truly liberated from the staunch Victorian morality.

As soon as the operation became available, Rue found a plastic surgeon willing to give her breast augmentations, making her look even closer to what she feels she is. Unfortunately she is unwilling to attempt the full sex change operation due to complications that could occur with her being of the undead. Also, finding a surgeon to do it in this day and age is really hard.

Rue has always felt a bit of guilt for leaving her family the way she did, but she reasons if they had really needed an heir they would’ve tried for more than one son, rather than stopping with her. Rue is more than happy to keep living her own life and let the past be the past.
